The Immediate Family of Gwynviène Avenloré

Evergild Fae

Nestled deep within the eastern wing of The Library lies the residence of Lady Selvarithe Avenloré and her family—keepers of history, memory, and a quieter kind of power.

Though the House of Avenloré is known across the realm as one of the most ancient and formidable branches of the The Evergild Fae nobility, this particular wing stands apart. It does not seek prestige in courtly games or academic superiority, but instead in preserving what others forget—old stories, fading truths, and fractured timelines. Theirs is a house of candlelight and vellum, of dust motes in quiet halls, and the slow, steady turning of pages.

Lady Syraëlle Avenloré

Matriarch of the Historical Wing
The true blood of Avenloré flows through Syraëlle’s veins. She inherited leadership not through marriage nor favour, but by right of birth—as the eldest of her siblings, just as her mother did before her. A scholar of folk traditions and oral histories, she believes that stories are living things, and that forgetting them is a kind of death.
Syraëlle is graceful and composed, her presence like a hearth in winter—gentle, steady, but unyielding when threatened. Her skin is moon-pale with a faint iridescent sheen, and her long hair, the colour of antique gold, is always braided with delicate threads of silver and green. Her eyes are a deep violet, soft yet penetrating, as though always seeing two layers of time at once.—gentle, steady, but unyielding when threatened. She raised her children to seek truth, even when it is uncomfortable, and to question quietly the assumptions of their world.

Lord Caladien Avenloré of House of Spires

Scholar-Consort
Married into the Avenloré line, Caladien hails from the House of Spires —a powerful yet secretive noble house responsible for regulating magic across the realm. A lesser son of one of its arcane magistrates, he was raised among celestial charts, enchanted contracts, and the ever-shifting politics of magical law.
He is soft-spoken and bookish, with a fondness for magical theory, arcane loopholes, and obscure footnotes. Caladien’s skin bears a dusky lilac undertone—common among those of the Spires—and his hair is a soft starlight-blonde, unusually light for his House but not unheard of. The silver at his temples has appeared with age, giving him a haloed look. His eyes shimmer like starlight through glass, ever-calculating, ever-distant. Caladien prefers observation to action, but his insights are often piercing. He and Syraëlle are true partners, bound by intellect and quiet love. His children are the light of his life, and he nurtures their curiosity with unwavering support.

Sylvérian Avenloré

Eldest Son & Heir
The firstborn child and heir to the historical archives, Sylvérian carries the weight of his role with quiet dignity. He has the classic Avenloré look: pale, luminous skin with a faint golden glow beneath, and thick, ink-dark hair that falls just past his shoulders. His eyes are a piercing indigo, ringed with silver—a sign of deep memory among the Evergild. He dresses in structured robes with subtle embroidery denoting his rank as heir.. He is a measured soul—careful with his words, deliberate in his decisions, and fiercely protective of his siblings.
Though loyal to the traditions of the House, he does not blindly follow them. He believes in the importance of their work, but knows that change must come if their knowledge is to remain alive.
He and Gwynviène share a complicated affection—strong, but often strained by their differing outlooks. Where he sees duty, she sees restriction. Still, he watches over her in his own way, and her happiness matters more to him than his inheritance.

Aurenne “Ren” Avenloré

Youngest Child
Ren is a flame in the dark halls of the Library. Their skin gleams with a pearlescent hue that shifts subtly with their moods, and their hair—short on one side, tumbling in waves on the other—is streaked with lavender and bronze. Their eyes are a riot of colour, ever-changing: sometimes pale gold, sometimes pinkish-red, often both. They wear patchwork robes of their own design, layered in enchanted fabrics that sparkle faintly with dormant magic.. Non-binary, brilliant, and utterly themself, they are a spark of unpredictable magic and electric insight. Where the rest of the family looks backward, Ren looks forward—experimenting with dreamlore, memory-magic, and arcane invention.
Their identity has never been questioned within their family. They are accepted wholly, without ceremony or correction, as if the world had always known who they were meant to be.
Gwynviène and Ren share a close bond—both a little “other” in a world that expects uniformity. Where Gwynviène doubts, Ren believes. Where Gwynviène hesitates, Ren leaps. They are, perhaps, each other’s truest reflection.

A Portrait Painted of the Avenloré children including Panvier and due to a mistake by the artist, Ren wearing a dress. The family found it funny, but Syraëlle and Caladien keep the portrait in their bedroom.
